The intended route is a chain of quests and boss gates. Patch 1.0.5
closed an early travel bug, so plan for the route instead of relying
on a skip.

What the route is built around
Official patch notes describe the intended path up to the final
island and confirm that the game has five islands. Each step asks
you to earn money, complete a quest or beat a boss before the boat
can move on.
Island two: prepare for the first boss
Bring food, a sharpened knife and a weapon you can recover after a
knockdown. Community reports describe the Spider Crab as a
circle-and-punish fight: bait a miss, wait for the dizzy window,
then commit damage.
Island three: inspect the fish
One player-reported quest requires an endangered fish. Inspect
your catch with F before handing it to an NPC. Needlefish is a
reported solution, but keep the row labelled as community data
until verified in the live build.
Do not gamble your progression money
The roulette and slot-machine systems are optional. The reliable
route is to sell duplicates and keep enough cash for the next gear
or boat requirement.
01 / LIGHTHOUSE
Build the loop
Learn short casts, sell duplicates and trigger the boat repair
objective. Leave with the rod, bag space and enough money for a
boss kit.
- Keep one unusual fish
- Mark the merchant route
02โ03 / FOREST & SHORES
Finish quests before bait
Island 2 is where the leech pickup quest gates Giant Piranha.
Island 3 adds the endangered-fish lead, so inspect catches with F
before handing anything over.
- Read the counter, not old guides
- Keep quest fish unprocessed
04โ05 / LATE ROUTE
Reserve the upgrade fund
The casino and volcano islands tempt you to spend on optional
systems. Save for the next engine, lure or weapon requirement
until the route is secure.
- Sell duplicates, not leads
- Clear inventory before the final arena
