This is two fights. Fish Bucket from five any-fish to the hazmat scientist. Kill Bowhead, throw the body in the crater, then Mutated Bowhead. Killing is not the ending — the tail hand-in starts the boat.

Two-fight checklist
Stock lava-cooked 1.5x fish. There is no shop break once Mutated spawns.
Assault rifle, suppressor, bullet upgrades. Kite the shop clearing; hip-fire when it is low or landing.
Do not stand in lava. Burn lingers after you step out.
Door cheese: same as Albatross — stand in the threshold, peek shots, do not walk deep inside or the hitbox reaches you.
Co-op cheese: gunner on the crater rim, kiter keeps the whale in that cone.
Mutated lava bombs leave floor magma. After half health, wait for the double slam, take a short burst, move. Pick up the tail. Talk to the hazmat NPC.
KeenGamer’s ending note: the Mutated drop (they say fin; we also see tail) feeds the scientist, who gives a military boat key. That boat is the ride back toward the mainland and credits.
Why we are not sending you to a “red island house”
One Chinese recap tells you to bait a whale at a house on a
red radar dot. In the 3DM color nicknames, red is Rocks
(Albatross), purple is Volcano (whale). Use Volcano buildings
and the crater. If a doorway peek works, it is the Albatross
trick reused, not a different island.
