How to Fish second island: why Forest does not appear

The Forest island is not meant to be obvious from the Lighthouse beach. The usual sequence is Spider Crab → Keeper hand-in → boat keys → buy and hold the Radar → follow the green marker northwest.

WATCH THE MARKER

Keys start the boat. Radar draws the route.

The walkthrough’s open-water stretch is this sail. Hold the Radar. The green northwest marker is Forest. The island is not on the Lighthouse horizon.

  • Hand in Spider Crab first.
  • Hold the Radar on the boat.
  • Green = Forest.

Checklist
  1. Spider Crab meat accepted by the Lighthouse Keeper (Who stole my beer).
  2. Boat keys work. A parked boat without keys is not the full unlock.
  3. Buy the handheld Radar (walkthroughs list $10 at the Keeper). It is not the boat keys.
  4. Hold the Radar. Early Radar is not mounted on the boat.
  5. Sail toward the green marker northwest until Forest renders.

Forest is a render, not a shoreline prop

Walkthroughs agree: you follow coordinates, you do not scan the horizon for a second landmass from the dock. Patch 1.0.5 removed sailing to islands you have not unlocked, so a missing mesh is usually a missing quest step, not a skip.

After Forest is open

The next gate is 3/3 ground leeches, then Modified Leech → Giant Piranha → skeleton hand-in. Killing the piranha without the skeleton talk does not place Island 3 on the Radar.
