Easy is a burst-damage check, not a first-hour fight. Learn the spawn, come back with a late gun, stand on the lure, and dump the magazine the moment the boss exists. Do not combine this with Handyman on the final whale.

WATCH THE OPENING BURST
The timer starts at spawn, not at the lure cast.
Have the weapon drawn and the magazine full before the bait goes in. Fishing animation is wasted time.
Reload first.
Stand on the spawn.
Skip the rod once it is hooked.

Timed attempt
Clear the story first. Keep a save with a strong gun and full attachments (Fully equipped helps).
Pick an early boss you already understand. Spider Crab with Empty Beer Can is the usual pick. Giant Piranha works if you can dump the body before the split.
Eat first. Reload. Stand at the spawn. Cast the bait, swap to the gun immediately.
Do not fish, shop, or inspect mid-fight. The clock is 10 seconds from the boss existing.
Difficulty setting is not this achievement
Patch 1.0.9 added an Easy world setting (75% creature health, 50%
damage). That is a separate slider. The Steam achievement still
wants a 10-second kill on any difficulty.
Do not mix Handyman
Handyman is bare-handed on the final Mutated Bowhead Whale. Easy
wants burst damage on a disposable early boss. Running both on
the same fight is how people brick a save.
